Read It, America! is a free public service offered by PelhamCourses.com. We’re a family business who teach online humanities courses. We have an upcoming 2-semester course called Introduction to the US Constitution (suitable for anyone age 15 or higher), and we’d love to help the United States by providing a solid, non-partisan introduction to everyone. Providing this and other classes is how we plan to make our living.
But separate from all that is this good-faith Read It, America! project. It’s a tall order to get everyone to take a Constitution class, and much more realistic to get everybody simply to read the document. (It only takes an hour!) And to make it easier, we read it to you in our series of YouTube-based video. You’ll find all that right here on this site. And if you’re the sort who might need to break that down into several sessions, we can help track your progress and remind you to keep going.
To get the most out of this site, please do these two things:
- Create a simple user account, so you can get credit for the reading you do here. (60 seconds).
- Then start reading the Constitution, beginning with the Preamble here.
